When promoting Fiego, I kept hesitating to pull any past work into the equation. Why use Rocko as an attention getter, when the person who created it no longer exists. I could’nt do Rocko now, nor would I want to. I’m happy with it, and the royalty checks are very helpful, But I am not that.
I feel it is difficult to transition back into an independent filmmaker again, but that is what I am. If I define myself with what I do, which is not real. I know most people are only interested in Rocko or Lazlo ( a few about Luna). But I am no longer that. So I need to just be in the moment with my work, and not get involved with the outcome or acceptance of it.
